It's a given that handsets with more than 4 GB of RAM will be the new benchmark of high end smartphones this 2016. However, we didn't expect to come from Vivo, a well known brand in China but relatively unknown internationally. Earlier, the company just launched the Vivo X5 Play Elite, a super powerful phone with that HUGE 6 GB of RAM.
Going to the internals, the Xplay features an all metal build with a dual curved unconventional 5.43 inch Super AMOLED QHD panel protected with Gorilla Glass 4. It runs on the latest Snapdragon 820 chip, Adreno 530 GPU, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage and 3,600 mAh of battery capacity.
It also has a 16 MP Sony IMX298 sensor at the back with PDAF and dual tone LED flash and an 8 MP shooter for selfies in front. It also goes with powerful audio internals with a combination of dual ES9028 Sabre DAC and OPA1612 opamp to deliver superb HiFi experience. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is also complete with other important features such LTE connectivity and fingerprint sensor at the back.
It runs on a Funtouch OS skinned version of Android 5.1 Lollipop.
