1. Dual Cameras w/ Dual OIS - This is the first dual camera setup for Samsung and it is already dubbed as the "Ultimate Dual Camera" on a smartphone to date. Well, this is no surprise since they supplied the Galaxy Note 8 with a combo of a 12 MP f/1.7 RGB sensor that has a DSLR grade Dual Pixel focus and multiframe tech along with a 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto sensor for a better 2x optical, lossless zoom. What's more impressive is that both camera has OIS. Your photos will surely be stabilized every single shot you take. Samsung's first dual camera entry is definitely on the running to be the best camera setup on a smartphone to date.
2. Larger screen, small footprint - The Galaxy Note 8 has a 6.3 inch WQHD Infinity Display but it still retained a fairly manageable body size comparable to those smartphones with a 5.5 to 5.7 inch display. This is made possible by the 18:9:5 screen aspect ratio that sports a very slim top, side and bottom bezels. It is a pretty amazing display!

3. Well protected - The metal and glass build of the Galaxy Note 8 is no joke as well. It has an IP68 grade protection meaning that it is dust and water resistant. You can submerge this phone up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes and there will be no harm done. The screen is also protected with Gorilla Glass 5 giving a well protected infinity display.

4. Smarter, better S Pen - The S Pen has always been a popular part of the Galaxy Note series. Business and casual users alike enjoys the note taking capability of the Note series. Samsung takes it up a notch with a smarter and better S Pen integration. It now has a translation feature that allows you to translate a highlighted word and immediately provide you an answer in your native language. It can also do this to currencies too. You can also now use the S Pen with Samsung's always-on-display feature. And lastly, you can use it with the Live Messages feature that allows you to share and message animations from your handwriting and doodles anytime, anywhere.
5. Beastly specs - Under the hood, the Note 8 has a powerful 2.3 GHz 64 bit Exynos 8895 octa core processor along with 6 GB of ram. Storage-wise it has a 64 GB expandable storage. The battery is a bit small with 3,300 mAh but Samsung is known to optimize battery usage really well so we can expect good things in this department too. These specs will really make a strong case for the best smartphone throne today.

6. Improved UI - As expected, the Note 8 ships with Android 7.1.1 with a TouchWiz UI on top of it. However, Samsung promises that it is a well-optimized version of TouchWiz so we can expect a smoother experience overall. Bixby (Biiiiiiiimbs!) Vision and Voice is also greatly improved and optimized as well.
7. Multitasking made easier - Samsung included a multitasking feature called paired apps. This feature allows you to launch two apps at the same time via split screen. This is a welcome addition especially to those busy peeps who wants a work / play balance.
8. Extra functionality - You can still use your Note 8 as a functional PC as well. Connecting it to the Dex dongle, you can use it as a computer if you really need something done that needs a bigger real state. This is great news if you don't have an available PC or laptop since this can be done with any HDMI-ready display.
