Huawei Mate 10 Pro's dual Leica camera setup |
In case you missed it, its the same Kirin 970 A.I. assisted 20MP f/1.6 mono + 12MP f/1.6 RGB lenses that made the Mate 10 great for lowlight shooting. Moreover, it has 4-in-1 Hybrid AF, OIS, 2x zoom, and dual tone LED flash. It still can detect 13 different objects and scenes and adjust the best settings for those pictures automatically.

The 8MP intelligent selfie shooter |
For selfies, the 8MP f/2.0 w/ screen flash is also A.I. assisted. It will be evident when you open the portrait mode as it will intelligently blur the background and make the edges look a bit more natural.

The camera performance of the Mate 10 Pro is as amazing as the regular Mate 10. Shooting speed is incredible, focus is mostly accurate, and it saves photos really fast.
Details are also crazy sharp (for a phone) and colors are balanced. Exposure could be a bit better, but noise are almost non-existent in daylight shots and minimal in lowlight. Zoo is also good!
Then, like most Huawei top-tier phones, the Mate 10 Pro has one of the most robust set of camera features for mobile photography and videography.
So far, I'm still very impressed. However, I wished that Mate 10 Pro's camera is a bit better than the regular Mate 10 to make it sound and look more "Pro" better.
But, that's fine, the cameras of Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro can either compete, match, or even beat the camera performance of most flagship smartphones including Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone X.
