Now they are using an in-app feature that will enhance the user experience. It is called Rider Identification. This new feature will now verify the rider's identity through their Facebook account even without a credit card or any other electronic payment method in their Uber account.

This will allow riders who prefer cash-based trips to register with the app but also assure drivers of who they are going to pick up. This feature is created in partnership with the LTFRB and other government agencies.
The LTFRB is supportive of Uber's initiative to launch Rider Identification, as this is one of the outcomes of our Safety and Security Technical Working Group meetings conducted together with the TNCs, TNVS leaders, PNP-HPG, MMDA, and Red Cross. This will hopefully provide an additional layer of security for our TNVS drivers who provide service to the riding public.
The Philippines is going to be leading the roll-out of this new feature in Asia. Uber will continue their commitment to keeping their users safe during their every trip.
