Meralco stages MTech 2017 Replay

Due to the strong clamor for a repeat of the MTech 2017 last November, Meralco just staged a re-run of the said successful event.

In case you missed it, MTech stands for Meralco Technology, and Innovation Summit. It highlights the company's digital transformation and featured speakers on a virtual journey. MTech 2017 also showcased the latest technology innovations from around the world.

The MTech 2017 Replay is a condensed version of last year's MTech. It was held at the Meralco Theatre and was attended by employees of the company, subsidaries, customers, representatives from key government agencies, and other industry players.

The forum featured keynotes from Gavin Barfield, Mercalco's Chief Technology Advisor and Jeffrey Katz, IBM's Head of Grid Technology Energy, Environment and Utilities Industry.

Meralco highlighted the "Journey to Tommorow" presentation where Barfield showcased the company's achievements over the past few years which saw the electric distribution utility refreshing its information technology systems.

That system delivered a new digital customer experience and the development of a Smart Grid.

The summit also showcased Meralco's latest innovations including the soon-to-be launched customer experience engine, new HR and collaboration tools, new mobility solution for field crews, a new safety app, and A.I. chat bots.
