HTC U12+ flagship with pressure sensitive buttons now official!
HTC U12+

The HTC U12+ has a curved back side which is a welcome change from the common flat surface other flagship has. Compared to the U11, it seems to have a bigger and heavier build as well.

HTC's design language is aptly dubbed "Liquid Surface" due to its looks with a few colors announced including Flame Red, Ceramic Black and Translucent Blue.

In terms of ports, you can say bye to the headphone port here since the U12+ does not have one. It's also worth noting that it has IP68 water and dust resistance.

The display is a 6-inch QHD+ Super LCD-6 screen with a pixel density of 537ppi with DCI-P3, sRGS color gamut used. HDR 10 will also be available out of the box. Surprisingly, it does not have a notch which is a surprise as that seems to be the trend of 2018.

Inside it will have a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of storage with microsd card support up to 2TB, and a 3,500mAh battery.

The cameras with a dual camera setup has 12MP f/1.75 UltraPixel 4 lens and a 16MP f/2.6 telephoto lens with 2x lossless zoom. Both rear sensors will have OIS and EIS.

The selfie cameras features an 8MP sensor with an 84-degree FOV lens with f/2.0 aperture. Portrait mode will be available for both front and rear cameras.

The buttons of the U12+ is not actual physical sensors but haptic sensors that vibrate when you put pressure on to them. In addition to this, the squeeze feature is also coming back with Edge Sense 2. It recognized how the hands are positioned and it will respond to how you squeeze the sides of the device.

The U12+ will also come pre-loaded with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for seamless communication to your smart home devices. It is going to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with future plans to update it to Android P.

The HTC U12+ is going to be available starting May 23rd with a starting price of USD 799 which is PHP 41,915 out of straight conversion. The 128GB version is priced at USD 849 which is PHP 44,527 out of straight conversion.
