Build Quality / Design
Nice looking build |
Power, play/pause and volume buttons! |
The speaker is round with the main speaker on top and a rubber flap at the bottom. The power, volume, and play/pause button on the side. At the opposite side is the Tronsmart branding.
There is a waterproof rubber flap at the back to cover the micro USB port and microSD card slot.
The micro USB cable is 6 inches long it feels hefty. We tried pulling on both ends and found that it was sturdy enough to endure the pulling forces from both ends.
Features
After being dipped in water! |
We've dipped a pair in a swimming pool several times and found it to be working wonderfully after.
The other great feature of this speaker is that it can be paired with one more unit of Tronsmart Element Splash. This is true. You will find the instructions on how to pair it at the manual and once you've paired it. It is paired forever or until you pair it with another unit.
After the initial pairing, when two units are simultaneously turned on, the two pair immediately.
Battery Life
In our actual usage, we were able to use it daily with nearly 10 to 12 hours of playtime and we only needed to charge it for two (2) hours and they are ready to go.
Sound Quality
A single unit can get loud and could fill a whole condo unit!
When listening outdoors like at the beach or a hiking trail, this allows a small group have a more consistent experience in terms of audibility and quality.
The sound signature is a balanced mids and trebles with a slightly stronger bass performance.
Even at maximum volume there is minimal distortion and when used indoors it gets so loud that we barely go beyond 75 percent volume.
Verdict
The water proof IP67 certification coupled with the stereo bluetooth pairability elevate this product beyond most of the bluetooth speakers at the same price point. In fact the only down sides we see are the lack of 3.5mm AUX jack and the scratch prone textured coating.
