According to sources at analog IC vendors, the possible 2019 series of iPhone and iPad devices could come with USB Type-C support. It will make a lot of sense since the Apple's own MacBook series is already using the USB Type-C standard.

Sources also indicated that Apple's possible adoption of Type-C port in its upcoming iPhones will accelerate other smartphone companies' adoption of the interface in their products.

Previously, there are rumors that Apple would use the Type-C solution to their next-generation iPhone launch this late 2018. But, Apple is still on  its redesign phase and will not be able to equip this tech to upcoming iPhones this year.

Let's wait for 2019.
