Vivo continues to wow the market with new innovations!
Vivo's newest technology, TOF 3D Sensing tech

Chinese firm Vivo introduced a three-dimensional sensing technology, dubbed as the Time of Flight (TOF), at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai.

Claiming to surpass current 3D technologies, Vivo's TOF detects the time it takes emitted pulse light to return to the sensor to accurately map objects at up to three meters in front of it.

Vivo also boasted that its 3D technology can capture in-depth information on the subject given its 300, 000 sensor points, ten times the number of existing Structured Light Technology.

The company said this opens the smartphone industry with more opportunities in facial, gesture and motion recognition, 3D photography and augmented reality.

From last year's debut of In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology, the recent launch of the truly bezel-less Vivo NEX, to our ground-breaking TOF 3D Sensing technology, we continue to forge ahead and evolve towards the truly intelligent future by opening new ways for the AI to help the consumer, said Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo.
By combining TOF 3D Sensing Technology with AI, we will continue to explore new possibilities for a better future, he added.

Vivo also hinted that it wants to include artificial intelligence in the system to further maximize the potential of the 3D technology.
