5 Reasons why the Vivo Y85 is a promising mid-range smartphone

1. Stylish design - The Vivo Y85 is currently the most affordable handset in the country with a 19:9 screen aspect ratio. Basically, it has less bezels than most smartphones at this price point. It has a the "love it or hate it" notch on the front though.

At the back, it has the neat looking clear acrylic plastic which looks like a glass on first look.

2. 12 nm MediaTek SoC - This is the very first device in the world with MediaTek's new 2.0GHz 64-bit Helio P22 octa-core processor with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. That chipset has support for handling AI tasks. It could be a very power efficient chip as too. The GPU it has is a decent one on paper as well.

It is still not as good as the Helio P60, but there's a chance that this SoC is designed to rival or beat even the likes of the Snapdragon 450 and even 625.

Vivo also paired it with ample 4GB RAM to handle many tasks with easily and enough 32GB storage to store your files.

3. Dual cameras - The Vivo Y85 arrived with a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back. The secondary sensor the depth sensor which allows users to take shots with shallow depth of field or bokeh.

4. Selfie camera with AI - In front, the Y85 has an 8MP sensor with AI Face Beauty and screen flash. Like with Vivo V9, the Y85 can detect the age, sex, skin tone, and etc. of the user to automatically give it a beautified yet still natural ooking selfies.

5. Face unlock + fingerprint sensor - Unlike other devices with either face unlock only or fingerprint scanner only, the Y85 has both the face unlock and fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Vivo Y85 is now available nationwide for PHP 13,990.
