The hackers have exploited vulnerability on Facebook's "View As" feature that lets users see what their own profile looks like to others. Hackers have stolen access tokens from Facebook which they can use to take over people's accounts.

One of the the access tokens is the feature that people can stay logged in their devices so they do not need to re-enter their password everytime they use the app.

The American company said that they have reported this vulnerability already and informed law enforcement. Facebook also stated that the initial action they have done is to log out people's Facebook accounts on their devices.

We're also taking precautionary step of resetting access tokens for another 40 million accounts that have been subject to a "View As" look up last year. As a result, around 90 million people will now have to log in back in to Facebook, or any of their apps that use Facebook login. After they have logged back in, people will get a notification at the top of their News Feed explaining what happened, said Facebook in their official statement

Facebook is also temporarily turning off the "View As" feature for now. The famous social media company is still on its early stages of investigation and they admitted that they are still yet determining which accounts were misused or if any information were accessed.
