Leica, Sigma and Panasonic joins forces!

In a joint press event, the three photography giants announce their collaboration that will ultimately benefit consumers of all three partners. This allows Panasonic and Sigma to use Leica's L-Mount standard that was announced back in the 2014 with the Leica SL.

The key is the numerous interchangeable systems and components that bring versatility and configurability to a wide variety of Photographic needs. This allows customers of each brand to choose from a wide selection of cameras and lenses without being limited creatively.

A good example is Leica's L-Mount that was designed to be robust, flexible and future proof. Today, the mount is used in Leica's SL line of Full Frame Mirrorless cameras and CL, TL2 and TL APS-C cameras.

It is clear that the three companies are serious with taking over the Full Frame Mirrorless camera segment.

What do you guys think? Is this a good thing for the manufacturers and us, the consumers?
