The fiber internet provider said in an emailed statement the new infrastructure was part of its bid to hasten nationwide deployment of services.

The newly opened node will serve as a buffer and backup for Converge ICT's current fiber network, providing better and stronger network resiliency and reliability in case of emergency network downturns.

The company boasted the new network has direct connection to the largest data center of American multinational tech firm Google.

The additional infrastructure was on top of Converge ICT's current nodes present in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the US, fortifying its capability to handle routing convergences and transmission redundancies.

This gives the network further stability and strength in the event that load and balance issues occur due to unforeseen circumstances such as environmental accidents or small quakes which affect physical infrastructures.

Just recently, Converge ICT secured two global certifications, the Metro Ethernet Forum Carrier Ethernet 2.0, and the Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certificationproving it provides world-class internet service.

To further elevate its business operations, the company is allotting USD 1.8 billion to boost its fiber internet business, not only in Luzon but also in Mindanao and Visayas.
