Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced that they have developed an AI technology that automatically determines if a cyberattack needs response.

AI technology versus Cyberattacks

The AI technologies can determine the threat level and the proper countermeasures

Before, when a cyberattack surfaces various security measures get triggered. An expert in cybersecurity then manually investigates the level of threat and employs a corresponding countermeasure.

Fujitsu's AI technology identifies and extracts attack logs which then shows the behavior a the particular cyberattack happening. They also have a technology that expands on the small number of training data extracted in a way that does not spoil important attack characteristics.

In their simulations, they were able to achieve a match rate of 95% in comparison with experts' conclusions regarding the need for action. They also did not miss any attacks that required a response. They were also able to shorten the time needed to reach a conclusions from several hours to just several minutes.

These AI technologies will now allow companies to determine the necessity of action against different type of cyberattacks in a shorter amount of time with high accuracy. Combining these technologies with Fujitsu Laboratories' high speed forensic technology, the process of combating the cyberattack and can be fully automated from analysis to countermeasures.

Fujitsu aims to make use of these technologies within its Managed Security Services, as a response platform for cyberattacks.
