Meet d-power S15PD 24,000mAh power bank

It has 24,000mAh of capacity!
It has 24,000mAh of capacity!

When I first saw the S15PD, I said to myself, "24,000mAh? That's pretty big". That amount of power is hard to quantify in a physical way. But, the S15PD reminds you how much power it has every single time you pick it up.
It has PD 3.0 Fast Charge technology, Quick Charge 3.0, SuperCharge and PE 3.0

This guy is hefty. Hefty is defined as something that is "large, heavy and powerful". That definition is the perfect description of the S15PD. It has a metal body with a glossy marterial as accent at the top part. It measures at 142 x 74.5 x 17.5 mm. It's length and width seems normal but this power bank is what we can define as thick. It also weighs in at 542 g.

Fortunately, its heft translates to great performance as well. First off, let's talk about its features.

First off, it has 3 USB ports found at the top along with the power button. It has a USB Type-C port which supports Quick Charge 3.0 and PD Fast Charge 3.0. There are two USB Type-A ports with one supporting Quick Charge 3.0 and the other one is a normal charging port.

The USB Type-C and Type-A ports supports outputs of 5V/3A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A. For PD 3.0 fast charge and Quick Charge output, it can have up to 18W max.
It has an LCD display telling how much power is left

In place of the usual LED power indicators, the S15PD has an LCD digital display that tells you how much juice you have left. Without a device plugged in, pressing the power button will flash the battery percentage for 10 seconds before turning off. It stays on during charging and when in use.

Big, powerful, heavy!

Charging a Samsung Galaxy S8 through the USB C port yielded around 65 minutes of charging from 10 - 100 percent. My Huawei Nova 2i with no quick charge tech charged faster using the normal charge USB A port too with around 10 - 15 minutes less than what I get from the default wall adapter.

In terms of charging the S15PD from 0 to 99, well that took a lot of time. Using the included USB C power cord and the D-power QA-05 4A fast charge wall adapter, it took me exactly 5 hours to complete the charge. I started charging from 7:20 PM and saw the final tick from 98 to 99 at 11:24 PM. This is pretty much what you can expect from a 24,000mAh device.

Temperatures during usage and charging is inconsistent. When you are using it to charge your device there is no heating problem. It does get warm using the fast charging ports but not to an alarming point. However, when charging it, it does get alarmingly hot. Using the fast charging wall adapter from d-power, both the S15PD and the wall adapter got hot.

Our thoughts

The D-power S15PD is available foe PHP 1,999
The d-power S15PD is available foe PHP 1,999

Overall, the d-power S15PD 24,000mAh power bank is worth the PHP 1,999 price tag. The capacity is enough to charge multiple devices to full. The fast charging tech included is suited for the newer devices now. However, we do not recommend you to bring this for air travel as its mere size and capacity may cause you trouble. This is ideal for road travels and for daily usage as a battery back up for a whole day of work or two.
