During the GDC 2019 that is taking place in San Francisco, California from March 18 to March 22, VR big name, Oculus launched their latest VR headset with the Rift S. This product is a joint project with Lenovo. The Rift S is an improvement from their previous releases.

It has a better weight distribution and has a much more manageable single cable setup. The gripe from previous Oculus Rifts is that it is uncomfortable due to the uneven distribution of its heft. Cable management was also a nightmare. Oculus listened to their consumers and fixed their biggest problems.

The Oculus Rift S touch controllers

The Rift S has 2560 x 1440 resolution with a refresh rate of 80Hz. It also gas features such as Oculus Insight and Passthrough+ features. Oculus Insight tracking has built-in sensors with Roomscale VR that allows for a more immersive close range VR encounters. It also has touch controls that further improves immersion designed to make you feel more in control.

Pricing and availabilty

The Oculus Rift has a price tag of USD 399 which roughly converts to aroung PHP 20,900. It is scheduled to hit US shelves in Spring 2019.
