Strategically located in Clark, Pampanga, the company established another "center of excellence" or COE, its second facility in the country next to its Taguig location.

The firm said COE was designed to provide specialised support for critical incidents that require immediate attention, employing teams of solution-oriented, trusted advisors to support millions of customers across the Asia Pacific region, and around the world.

For the 2,919-sqm facility, Uber targets to hire over 300 employees this year.

Its Manila office, Uber's largest COE yet in the world, has more than 1,000 workers.

Its global head of community operations Troy Stevenson said the USD 1.5-billion investment in Clark only proved Uber's commitment to the Philippines.

It was an easy decision to deepen our investment in the Philippines and open a second Center of Excellence in Clark, complementing our existing Manila team. We’re pleased to be able to create new economic opportunities for talented professionals with the goal to more than double the team in Clark by the end of the year, while expanding our global support services from this strategic location, added Wen-Szu Lin, director of Community Operations, Asia Pacific.
