DJI's GoPro Hero Killer?

The new action camera from the world renown drone manufacturer comes in a tiny form factor with measurements of 65 x 42 x 35mm and a weight of 124 grams.

The camera features a 145 degree field of view f/2.8 lens that projects an image into a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensors with 12M effective megapixels. It has an ISO range of 100-3200 for photo and video with a max resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels.

It can shoot 4K and 2.7K in 16:9 from 24fps to 60fps and in 4:3 from 24fps to 30fps while 1080 and 720 can go from 24fps to 240fps. It is also capable of 4K HDR and 4K timelapse with a max video bitrate of 100Mbps with an output video format of MOV and MP4 (H.264). For Audio, it outputs 48 KHz in AAC.

It supports microSD cards with up to 256GB of storage with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.

The front display is a 1.4-inch LCD display with 300 ppi while the back display is a 2.25-inch display with 640 x 360 resolution or 325 ppi.

Lastly, the removable 1300mAh internal battery is rated for up 135 minutes with 1080p 30fps recording but if you are recording 4k/60fps with RockSteady (EIS) it is rated for 63 minutes. It takes 90 minutes to charge the battery from zero to full.

The DJI osmo Action will be available in the United States on May 22 for USD 349 without tax and without shipping. 

Update: It is priced at only PHP 22,800 which is less than the current top tier GoPro Hero 7 Black at PHP 24,690. The official DJI Philippines store is accepting pre-orders now! 

There is no word yet on the date of when the Osmo Action will arrive in the Philippines.
