Most modern Huawei phones are equipped with cameras that can let you take decent selfies even at night. However in conditions with very minimal light, it might still struggle. Huawei's solution to that problem is its own selfie stick with LED light.

The packaging

First, it features an ultra-compact and neat looking design in black or white color options. When folded, the length is just 185 mm. But, you can extend its length to 610 mm. It is also lightweight at just 120 grams.

The selfie stick comes with a Bluetooth BLE connectivity with remote control button and the softlight LED light for selfies in the dark.

LED lamp and the buttons

It comes with a 3-gear adjustable brightness for different scenarios. To turn it on and off, just long press the switch. The short press is for different brightness levels.

We noticed that it comes with a total of 6 LED bulbs. Brightness is quite strong even at just level 1.

Huawei said that its fill light will allow you to take selfies in low light with less noise and natural looking skin colors. In addition, the company also said it is good for up to 30,000 photos on a single charge.

Level 1

Brightness level 1 is strong enough to allow you take decent selfies in a very dark room.

Level 2

Brightness level 2 is obviously brighter. But it overexposed the right part of the cheek a little.

Level 3

Brightness level 3 is really strong and it has better exposure than level 2. It also made the shot look sharper with more natural looking colors.

Since it can stand on its own with tiltable head, Huawei said that it can even function as a bedside lamp aside from the selfie stick and flashlight modes.

It works for 4.7-inch to over 6-inch phones running with Android 5.0 or later and iOS 8.0 or later.

Quick thoughts

Huawei Selfie Stick with LED Beauty Light is more than just an ordinary selfie stick, it is portable and stylish with useful functions.

Aside from its 3-level of brightness for selfies in the dark, you can also use it as a flashlight for emergencies and even for your product shots. I also like the fact that it can function as a bedside lamp as.

A minor downside I can see is it doesn't have a mount for tripods. There is no word if it has some sort of water resistance as well.

But overall, it is easy to use and it performs the way it should.
