Why? Without the proper gear, the potential of this style of teaching is wasted. Is why Smart reached out to 50 multigrade schools in Eastern Visayas to provide them with the School-in-a-Bag portable digital classrooms.
This is a joint project between Smart, UNICEF Philippines and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology.
All beneficiaries receive teacher training and program evaluation while off-grid schools with no electricity are given a solar panel, battery and TV on top of the items mentioned earlier.
The six-year project is intended to improve access to quality learning for disadvantaged children in poor, remote and contextually challenged school-communities in the country.
