According to Digitimes Research, it is expected to surge by 19.3 percent in Q3 2019 due to the peak-season effect. It is after falling 8.7 percent on quarter and 11.9 percent on-year to 32.66 million units in the second quarter of 2019.

Q2 2019 was weaker due to the absence of the new iPad models, the US trade ban on Huawei, and the weak demand for white-box tablets.

Last Q2, Apple is still number 1. Samsung and Amazon regained the second and fourth rank, respectively. On the other hand, Huawei is down to number 4 and Lenovo is back to the fifth spot.

For Q3, Lenovo is expected to advance to the third spot to replace Amazon due to its weak shipment momentum. Despite the expected, gradual shipment pickup, Huawei is expected to fall to the number 5 spot.

On chipset game, MediaTek returned to the second spot in terms of tablet processor shipments in Q2, but it is expected to fall to number 3 as Qualcomm is expected to rebound in Q3 2019.

Apple is expected to stay on top of the tablet world.
