As per Yorme Isko, the mission of this partnership is about "Revitalizing Manila with the Power of Connectivity".

The following are the areas where the FREE #SmartWiFi will be built:

  1. Manila City Hall
  2. Ospital ng Maynila
  3. Tondo Medical Center
  4. Gat Andres Medical Center
  5. Universidad de Manila
  6. Museo Pambata

The live announcement was joined by Yorme, of course, other Manila city personnel, and PLDT executives including Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan himself.

The official name of this WiFi service is the "Google Station: Smart WiFi" since PLDT can use the Google WiFi stations around the city.

But we'll have to see and confirm once the FREE WiFi is already open for use of the public.

Currently, the Philippines has more than 400 Google Station: Smart WiFi sites!

We are happy to work with the city government of Manila and Mayor Isko in helping provide connectivity to the city and bring the benefits of the Internet to more Filipinos across the country, Pangilinan said.

Who's excited about this new service in Manila City?
