Tight 5G phone race!

According to Huawei's sub-brand HONOR, the Chinese tech giant sold a total of 6.9 million units of smartphones with 5G in 2019. In comparison, Huawei's 5G figure is 0.2 million bigger than Samsung.

In total, Huawei has 6 devices with 5G connectivity. It includes the Mate 20 X 5G, Mate 30 5G, Mate 30 Pro 5G, Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, Nova 6 5G, and Mate X. HONOR, on the other hand,  has the V30 and V30 Pro.

Huawei achieved this feat despite the ongoing China-US trade war which prevented Huawei from pre-installing Google on its new phones with new chips.

Most likely, the figures for Huawei mostly came from China where it is selling a lot of 5G phones. Huawei 5G devices are also present in Dubai.

This report suggests that Huawei and Samsung are leading the way in the 5G race.

We can expect both companies to release more devices with next-generation connectivity this year.
