Department of Tourism and iACADEMY launch Experience Philippines AR app

The Department of Tourism and iACADEMY teamed up to launch an AR app called Experience Philippines. It features an AR recreation of Intramuros for tourists to enjoy.

Experience Philippines featuring Intramuros

The app showcases the walled city of Manila in an immersive AR experience. It is a joint project by the DoT and iACADEMY, a school in Makati specializing in the computer, business, and design courses.

The AR feature currently works on the DoT logo and certain sites in Intramuros. These include the Gallery of Presidents, the Fort Santiago Gate, the Ayuntamiento, the Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, and the Churches of Lourdes, of San Ignacio, of San Francisco, and of Recollects. Just press the "ARTech" button on the app and point at the tourist site.

The Experience Philippines app is now available for download for FREE on both iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play Store respectively.
