Canalys: Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is the world's best-selling Android smartphone for Q4 2019
Research firm Canalys has outed the data to reveal the global top 10 best-selling smartphones in Q4 2019.
Unsurprisingly, Apple dominated the list. 5 of its phones are in the top 5 which include the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone XR, and iPhone 8.
The top Android phone for the said period is from Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 8 at number 6. It is followed by the 3 more Samsung phones including the A10s, A20s, and A30s. The 10th best-selling phone during the period is the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
The most likely reason behind Redmi Note 8's success is its incredible price to specs ratio. It is a phone packed with some of the best specs you'll find for the price.
Xiaomi is also doing well in China, India, and APAC. In India, the world's second-biggest smartphone market, Xiaomi is the number 1 brand.

For the whole of 2019, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 are the top 2 phones. It is followed by the Samsung Galaxy A10, A50, and A20.
The Redmi Note 7 also did very well in the list at the number 6 position. Other phones in the top 10 are the iPhone 8, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 7, and the Galaxy S10+ at numbers 7, 8, 9, and 10, respectively.
