HONOR 30S 5G with powerful Kirin 820 SoC and 64MP cam now official

On schedule, HONOR launched the HONOR 30S along with the new Kirin 820 5G SoC through an online event in China.

The handset boasts a 3D curved glass-like back in Black, Green, and Blue gradient colors and a 6.5-inch 2.5D curved LCD display with FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, 90.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a punch-hole at the upper left portion to house the 16MP f/2.0 selfie cam.

It'll come with 5G connectivity

Inside, the handset is powered by the new 7nm Kirin 820 5G octa-core processor with up to 2.3GHz clock speed, Mali-G57 MP6 GPU, and the same 1x DaVinci NPU found on the Kirin 990 flagship SoC.

Huawei's sub-brand HONOR said that this chip comes with a 27 percent improvement in CPU performance, a 38 percent improvement in gaming performance and a 73 percent better AI performance.

Recent AnTuTu listing said that it is almost as fast as the flagship Kirin 980 and faster than Snapdragon 765G.

It is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage, and 4,000mAh battery with USB-C 40W fast charging support.

For cameras, it sports a quad-cam array at the back with a 64MP f/1.8 main, 8MP ultra-wide, 8MP 3x optical zoom, and a 2MP 4cm macro sensors.

Of course, this device has Huawei's 5G SA/NSA connectivity.
