Vivo NEX 3S 5G with SD865 and waterfall screen now official

Vivo has just launched the NEX 3S 5G, the refreshed version of the NEX 3 last year.

The NEX 3S 5G still sports the same NEX 3 design, but there's a new Orange color aside from the current Black and Blue designs.

In front, it still has the same 6.89-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED waterfall display, but it now has HDR10+ support aside from HDR10.

The other change in the phone is its use of the new-gen 7nm Snapdragon 865 octa-core SoC paired with a separate Snapdragon X55 5G modem that supports NSA/SA 5G.

Coming from LPDDR4X, it now goes with LPDD5. LPDDR5 RAM is 29 percent better than LPDDR4X. It uses the new UFS 3.1 storage as well. In particular, you can either pick 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The battery is rated at 4,500mAh and it has support for Vivo's USB-C 44W fast charging solution.

For cameras, it comes with a circular camera hump with a triple-cam setup that includes a 64MP f/1.8 primary cam, 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide cam, and a 13MP f/2.5 telephoto cam. The selfie cam is a 16MP snapper with an LED flash.

In China, it starts at CNY 4,998 (around PHP 36.3K) for the 8GB/256GB edition. The beefier 12GB/256GB version is priced at CNY 5,298 (around PHP 38.5K).
