MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G now official, scores 415K in AnTuTu

Taiwan based chip manufacturer MediaTek has just announced the new Dimensity 820 5G SoC with 120Hz display support.

Built on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's 7nm FinFET process, the new MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G SoC that is equipped with 4x ARM Cortex-76 cores at 2.6GHz (performance cores) and 4x ARM Cortex-A55 at 2.0GHz (efficiency cores) and the 5-cores of ARM Mali-G57.

To improve the gaming experience over Dimensity 800, the new Dimensity 820 features the HyerEngine 2.0 that provides software-based enhancements for better graphics that include intelligent CPU, GPU, and Memory allocation, improving network latency, better call/data concurrency, and enhancing HDR visuals.

Integrated into the Dimensity 820 is a 5G NR (sub-6GHz) modem that also supports Carrier Aggregation to offer reliable higher than average speeds.

The original Dimensity 800 could only support up to 90Hz FHD+ displays but the new Dimensity 820 now allows for up to 120Hz FHD+ high refresh-rate displays. Moreover, the new support for MiraVision display enhancements also allows for Full HD, HDR10 Remapping, blue light filter, brightness dimmer, and Clear Motion. Clear Motion automatically upscales 24/30fps content to 60/120Hz supported displays.

Xiaomi Redmi 10X with Dimensity 820 AnTuTu score

Lastly, Xiaomi joined MediaTek at the announcement while confirming that the unannounced Redmi 10X will have the Dimensity 820 inside. Xiaomi also shared the AnTuTu score of the new Dimensity 820 that peaked at 415277. The score is similar to 2019's Snapdragon 855 flagship processor.
