Acer launches new Chromebook Spin 713 and Spin 311 convertible notebooks

Acer recently launched a  slew of new products including new Chromebooks and laptops.

Acer Chromebooks for 2020

First up are the Acer Chromebooks. The new Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is a device based on Project Athena. It is a 2-in-1 convertible notebook with a 13.5-inch 3:2 VertiView 2K IPS touchscreen with 2256 x 1504 resolution. It is designed with vertical usage in mind for websites, documents, and spreadsheets. It is also protected by Anti-microbial Corning Gorilla Glass.

It is also verified as part of Intel's Project Athena Innovation program for advanced mobile performance. It has the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processors for the latest performance improvements and power efficiency features for longer battery life. It also has 10 hours of battery life, up to 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM, and up to 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

It also has MIL-STD 810G compliant durability for people who are working on-the-go. As it is a convertible device, it can be opened a full 360-degrees enabling for different modes of usage such as display mode for presenting, tablet mode for entertainment, a clamshell mode for keyboard input, and tent mode.

Project Athena Innovation program is designed to develop and deliver the most advanced laptop experience and designs possible through the currently available resources. Devices go through numerous tests to make sure that technological specs are optimized to deliver an efficient and responsive experience to the users.

For connectivity, it has 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C ports with both supporting USB 3.2 Gen 1 up to 5Gbps, DisplayPort over USB-C, and USB charging. It also has 1 x HDMI port, USB 3.0 port, and a microSD card reader. It has dual-band WiFi 6 AX201 with 2x2 MU-MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0.

There's also an Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713 with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade included. This is geared for helping businesses to manage devices at scale. It is ideal for different business environments.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 is designed for schoolwork and to be the more consumer-friendly option. It has an 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass protection and convertible design. It is powered by a MediaTek MT8183 processor that is able to provide the performance necessary to multitask.

It promises up to 15 hours of battery life as well. It also has a wide FOV webcam, WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.2. Both the Spin 713 and Spin 311 fully support Android apps via Google Play Store.

The Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713 is set to be available in North America in August with a price tag of USD 1,099 or around PHP 55,000. The regular Chromebook Spin 713 will be available in North America starting July with a price tag of USD 629.99 which is around PHP 32,000.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 will be available in North America in July with a price tag of USD 259.99 which is around PHP 13,000.
