Partners and Huawei will create a new high-end smart car brand

Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) announced that it has partnered with Huawei and Changan Automobile to create a new high-end smart car brand.

CATL is a global leader in lithium-ion battery development and manufacturing. Changan Automobile is one of the top four automobile groups in China.

It will be using the Ark Architecture technology

Huawei, as we all know, is a global tech giant. It's the world's largest telecommunications equipment company and the second-largest smartphone market.

The partnership was said to be formed about a couple of months ago and it aims to jointly promote the development of China's electric vehicle industry.

The new brand aims to create a world-class high-end self-controlled smart electric vehicle platform. It will launch a range of smart cars along with a super "human car" as a part of life and smart energy ecology.

It will be using a new "Ark Architecture" technology developed by Changan Automobile Research & Development 4.0 which is said to improve the basic performance of the smart vehicle using artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.

Ark covers A0-C models and it will be compatible with eight engine states, displacement covers 1.2-2.0L, compatible with 48V low voltage mixing (LV-HEV), high-voltage mixing (HV-HEV), plug-in mixing (PHEV), three electrification power, matching eight transmission models, and 16 power combination modes.

The group is expected to launch around 105 models in the coming 5 years which includes 23 new electric products.
