Panasonic Philippines verified the effectiveness of its air conditioner against COVID-19

Panasonic Philippines has just announced that Texcell confirmed that its nanoe X Technology can inhibit the spread of Coronavirus.

Safer and cleaner air with the nanoe X technology?

Texcell is known as a global contract research organization that specializes in viral testings, viral clearance, and others. It stated that Panasonic's air conditioner with nanoe X technology has a 91.4 percent inhibitory effect on the deadly virus. This percentage is based on parameters of 6.7 cubic meters of space in the span of 8 hours.

nanoe X is a technology unique to Panasonic that collects invisible moisture in the air and applies a high voltage to it to produce "hydroxyl radicals contained in water". Hydroxyl radicals inhibit the growth of pollutants such as bacteria and viruses. They are characterized by being strongly oxidative and highly reactive but normally have a short life span. Contained in tiny water particles, nanoe X has a long lifespan and can spread over long distances. It has an inhibitory effect on both airborne and adhered substances. 

September last year, Panasonic has already partnered with Texcell to prove this inhibitory effect. They also explored the benefits of hydroxyl chemicals on the novel coronavirus in a small test space of 45 liters. They also used a nanoe X generator.

To further test their findings, the appliance company used an air conditioner with nanoe X in a larger test space. This time, they proved that Panasonic Air Conditioner with nanoe X Technology has a 91.4 percent inhibitory effect on the novel coronavirus in the actual space of 6.7m3 in 8 hours. But note that this was done in a laboratory so results may vary in actual living spaces.

With this new information, Panasonic highlights the importance of using an air conditioner with nanoe X Technology for cleaner and safer air indoors. Aside from that, they also offer a portable nanoe X Generator. The small device is also equipped with the same feature that is allegedly proven to inhibit harmful air pollutants and viruses.
