realme GT 5G now official, budget SD888 flagship phone!

On schedule, fast-rising global mobile brand realme announced its first true flagship smartphone of the year called GT 5G.

As expected, the realme GT 5G comes in 3 colorways: Galactic Silver, Deep Sea Blue, and Dawn Yellow. The most unique of the 3 is the Dawn Yellow version which uses a vegan leather back design (second-gen) with a more delicate texture, softer touch feeling, and better color effect as well as a black glass-like stripe on the rear panel up to the camera hump representing a "race track" finish.

In front, it goes with a 6.43-inch 2.5D curved Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution at 409 ppi, In-Display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole on the upper-left corner housing the 16MP front-facing camera.

Inside, this is powered by the top-of-the-line 2.84GHz 5nm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with USB-C 65W SuperDart fast charging. There is no wireless charging though.

Keeping the performance in check is a 3D Cooling System that can dissipate heat by up to 15 degrees Celcius.

The phone also has a 64MP f/1.8 main shooter + 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide-angle + 2MP macro + LED flash. 

This also has a 3.5mm headphone slot, stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos, and a Tactile Engine Linear Motor. It runs with Android 11 OS with realme UI 2.0 skin on top.

The device will be available for pre-order starting March 10 in China. There's no info on when will it be available in other parts of the world including the Philippines yet.

Don't get your hopes high as most realme phones launched in China are exclusive in the region.
