To recap, the Sony IER-Z1R is a top-of-the-line hybrid universal in-ear monitor featuring a dual DD and single BA triple-drivers designed for serious listeners on the go.

These are Sony-designed drivers (speakers) that aim to deliver audio consistency across the spectrum.

Its DD (dynamic driver) unit is a 5mm dynamic driver constructed with a newly developed aluminum-coated liquid crystal polymer (LCP) diaphragm and external magnetic circuit with a frequency response of up to 100 kHz. It is paired with a 12mm dynamic driver with a magnesium alloy dome and a balanced armature driver unit made out of magnesium alloy.

The hybrid triple-driver system also has a silver-coated copper voice coil and gold-plated terminals, they increase the driving force of the balanced armature unit to reproduce sound without losing the tiniest of micro signals.

It also has a magnesium alloy inner housing that delivers a natural sound with a precise sense of image projection. advanced sound space control technology was applied to finely control the airflow at the rear of the drivers, audio-grade film capacitor for crossover network circuits for low distortion, dedicated audio-grade solder minimizes loss in the signal path, 5-pole 4.4mm balance standard cables that use silver-coated oxygen-free copper, MMCX terminal with gold plating, optional KIMBER KABLE, and 13 different earbuds for fit and comfort.

It has an ear hook design and a zirconium alloy outer housing for increased hardness, corrosion resistance, and durability.
