In Japan, Sony has released the Xperia Ace 2, the company's newest budget and compact smartphone.

A budget phone with IP68 water and dust resistance, compact body, and large battery capacity

The handset boasts a small 5.5-inch display with HD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and a notch for the 8MP selfie shooter. It is a rare small smartphone with IP68 water and dust resistant body in Black, White, and Blue measuring just 140 x 69 x 8.9 mm and weighs 159 grams.

Inside, this device is equipped with entry-level specs starring the 12nm MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. 4,500mAh is considered as HUGE for phones with small 5.5-inch screens.

For cameras, the device is using a 13MP main shooter assisted by a 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash.

Similar to most modern smartphones, it uses a side-mounted fingerprint reader that doubles as the power key.

Of course, the device has WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and GPS.

You also get a fingerprint sensor on the side which also doubles as the power button.

Japan price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

JPY 22,000 (around PHP 9.6K)

It will be available in Japan this May 28, 2021. There's no word if it will go live in other parts of the world.
