Globe 4G LTE network expanded to more areas

For the last six months, the telco said it continued its network modernization program across the Philippines.

These network improvements will bring better call, SMS, and data browsing services to our customers especially in areas that need connectivity the most, said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Breaking down, Globe said over 500 sites in Batangas province were upgraded to 4G LTE from the old 3G network. A total of 488 locations in the National Capital Region and 450 sites in Cebu were also migrated to 4G LTE.

In Mindanao, 366 sites are now powered by 4G LTE in Davao del Sur while in Davao del Norte 126 sites have been upgraded. In Bukidnon, 79 sites have been migrated to 4G LTE. Meanwhile, 85 locations are now 4G LTE ready in Bohol.

Globe has also upgraded 111 sites in Cagayan; 88 in Rizal; 195 in Cavite; 328 in Laguna, and 358 in Pampanga.

As we have promised since the start of the year, we really intend to make 4G LTE more pervasive not only in Luzon but in more areas also in Visayas and Mindanao, Agustin said.
