A new version of the Hybrid console is coming on October 8 and it will have an OLED screen and some upgrades.
The main highlight of the new model is that it now has a bigger OLED screen of 7-inch. This a step-up over the previous model that only had a 6.2-inch display. But the resolution of the screen remains the same as it still has 720p. Still, it will bring deeper blacks and vibrant colors than the usual LCD screens that you can enjoy more when gaming.
When it comes to the internals, nothing much has changed, it still uses the same trusty Nvidia Tegra X1 chipset, so you cant expect games to run better here. The good thing is the storage has been upgraded to 64GB for more space to use.
The new Switch console now also features a wider kickstand from its back which can be adjusted to multiple positions compared to the based model that had a smaller and flimsy stand.
Another new feature will be the upgraded audio. Although the company didn't go into details regarding the changes aside from only mentioning that the dual bottom-firing speaker is now improved over the regular version.
Aside from these tweaks, this is still the same Switch that we've all gotten to know and enjoy. This means it works with the same games and accessories as the normal model although the company has put a disclaimer that there will be games where the game experience may differ due to the new capabilities of the console, such as the bigger display.
