Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Mini-LED 49-inch curved gaming monitor with 240Hz and 2000 nits peak brightness launched!

Samsung upgrades the Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor with a new Quantum Mini LED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 2000 nits peak brightness!

At CES 2020, Samsung announced the Odyssey G7 and G9 QLED gaming monitors in 49-inch, 27-inch, and 32-inch flavors. Months later in October of the same year, the Odyssey G9 and G7 arrived in the Philippines with a starting price of PHP 33,699.

Now in July 2021, Samsung unveils the "Future of Gaming" with the new Odyssey Neo G9. The company claims it is the World's first Mini LED Curved Gaming Monitor with Quantum Mini LED technology and with Quantum Matrix Technology. These offer gamers Quantum HDR 2000 with 2000 nits peak brightness and a 240Hz refresh rate.

The new Quantum Matrix Technology allows the monitor to display 12-bit color gradation while the Quantum Mini LEDs make the dark areas darker and the bright areas brighter with over 2048 dimming zones. The Quantum HDR 2000 means that the display has a peak brightness of 2000 nits and has a static contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. These are massive upgrades from the previous generation's 8-bit color, 10 dimming zones,  and 2,500:1 static contrast ratio.

Aside from those upgrades, the Neo G9 still has the massive 49-inch size diagonally, Display Port 1.4, HDMI 2.1, Dual QHD or 5,120 x 1440 resolution, 1000R VA screen curvature, 32:9 Aspect ratio, 1ms (GTG) Response Time, and 240Hz refresh rate. It supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.

The new Odyssey Neo G9 with Quantum Mini LED will be available for pre-order globally on July 29, 2021, and will be available globally by August 9, 2021. There is no word yet on International or Philippine pricing.
