SoundPEATS is an earphones brand that has been making significant progress since 2010. The brand was established by a group of music lovers and urban sports enthusiasts who were seeking a better way to enjoy music while living a healthy, active lifestyle.

In 2018, the audio brand has introduced its lineup of its first dual-driver and crossover TWS HiFi earbuds, the Trueengine.

Now with a more attractive price tag of PHP 1,890 (from its SRP of PHP 3,990), let's find out why SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE is still a superb choice:
The polycarbonate casing has four-piece LED indicators

1. Premium look with a matte finish - The charging case of these buds has a plastic build, just like other TWS in the market.  However, it looks polished and classy, thanks to its matte finish and solid black color. It has IPX5 certification so it's resistant to water, dust, and sweat.

Aside from that, the rose gold triangular plate on the earphones gives a nice accent to its simple design. The transparent detail that shows a part of the earbuds' internals also looks nice. The Truengine 3 SE has the same four-piece LED indicators to show the battery status and to signify successful pairing with the device.

2. User-friendly touch controls - It's definitely worth choosing a pair of earbuds with responsive controls. No need you need to have your smartphone close at hand for adjusting the volume or skipping a track. With a simple tap, you can increase or decrease the volume, accept or reject calls, and activate the voice assistant.

3. Dual dynamic drivers - These earphones come with dual dynamic drivers which is pretty rare for wireless in-ear wearables. Its codec is SBC and aptX, which is better than most basic codecs in audio transmission.

As a result, the SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE has a U-shaped signature. It means the buds highlight lows and highs but the middle frequency isn't as recessed. It produces clear mids and is not too bassy while highs are decent.

The earphones have a respectable soundstage for an in-ear design. Last but not least is the good layering between the vocals and instruments.

4. Good for calls - In terms of design, the SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE has carefully thought about this. The two small microphone openings are well placed, one at the bottom of the outside part then one at the top.

The microphone quality is decent, the voice was crisp and clear enough. To sum it up, these buds are suitable for everyday phone calls or online video chat.

5. Nice and comfortable fit - The Truengine 3 SE earphones have a compact, form-fitting design that’s designed to sit neatly in your ears. This in-ear design sets them apart from AirPods-style buds, which have a more extended design.

By their nature, they’re relatively secure. However, the fit will obviously depend on the size of your ear canals. To get the best fit, you may need to explore and find the best pair of ear tips.

If your fit is initially too tight or too loose, try switching to one of the alternative sets included in the box. Once you got it right, the buds are comfortable and lightweight so you can wear them for long hours.

For those who are interested, the SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE is available at Digital Walker for PHP 1,890.
