PLDT boosting enterprise unit's portfolio with IoT platform

Jojo Gendrano, PLDT's first vice-president and head of PLDT Enterprise core business solutions group, said the platform will be launched during the Philippine Digital Convention 2021 set on October 6 to 8.

The telco giant has inked a deal with Finnish company Nokia for the realization of the IoT platform.

We're pleased to announce the launch of a platform which we strongly believe will revolutionize and transform the way our customers do business via the Internet-of-Things. We’re launching at Digicon and we’re extremely excited about the possibilities this platform can bring, Gendrano said.

Gendrano explained that the IoT platform will run analytics and secure the client's data.

These details were disclosed during a virtual briefing for the group's Philippine Digital Convention or PH Digicon.

The convention is expected to gather about 20,000 delegates, composed of industry experts and decision-makers from local and international scenes.

PLDT chief Manuel V. Pangilinan hopes the convention will bring in new ideas, especially now that the world is dealing with a pandemic.

The virus has in the last 18 months developed a number of variants, the most potent of which is the Delta variant and that has created ripple effects and impacts on people’s lives, businesses and economy in general. So it poses new challenges, some of which can be best addressed by technology. And that is perhaps the main point of this convention, Pangilinan said.
