We recently received the OPPO A95 for review and here are is our unboxing and first impression of the new smartphone.
OPPO recently launched the A95 in the Philippines and has caught attention because of its design and its interesting specs.
It features a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ display. Inside is the 11nm 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor, Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB of storage, 5000mAh battery with 33W Flash Charge via USB-C.
In the Philippines, the smartphone is priced at PHP 15,999.
Is it worth the price tag?
Let's find out!
The OPPO A95 comes in the teal and black box that OPPO has been using recently. Around the box are OPPO branding, key specs and the regulatory information.
Inside the box, is the OPPO A95, silicone transparent bumper case, SIM ejector tool, USB Type-A to Type-C cable, 33W charger and documentation.
There are no included earphones. The screen protector is preinstalled on the phone by the factory.
At first glance, the OPPO A95 is eye-catching. The fit and finish are surprisingly well polished. It looks like a more expensive phone.
The front is a glass panel with a pre-installed screen protector. Around the phone are slim top and side bezels and a thick chin bezel. The inner frame is made of polycarbonate with a shiny finish while the back panel is made of glasstic but with a textured finish. This textured finish makes the phone less slippery and also dramatically reduces the fingerprint smudges on the back. The back panel and the inner frame curve which also makes the phone easier to hold.
The SIM tray can hold up to two nano-SIM cards and one microSD card. There is no rubber gasket so there may not be any form of water or dust resistance.
In front, it uses a 6.43-inch 2.5D curved AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a 2400 x 1080 resolution at 409 ppi. As mentioned earlier, the screen protector is preinstalled and has a cutout for the punch hole camera.
On top is a smooth surface while at the bottom are the 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C port and speaker grills.
On the left are the SIM tray and the volume up and down buttons while on right is the power button.
The device measures 160.31 x 73.76 x 7.95 mm and weighs 175 grams. The phone is lightweight and is easy to hold.
Initial set-up is easy and straightforward. However, there is a lot of preinstalled apps that we had to disable and uninstall one by one.
