Arriving in nearly 50 new countries!

Originally launched in November 2019, Disney+, the on-demand video streaming platform from the Media and Entertainment division of The Walt Disney Company is expanding into nearly 50 new territories. The streaming platform primarily distributes films and television series produced by the Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television with dedicated content hubs for brands like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

The streaming service initially was only available in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands. It eventually expanded to Australia, New Zealand, and Puerto Rico a week later. In 2020, it expanded to select European countries, in India and to Latin America.

Now in January 2022, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the service is expanding in 42 countries and 11 territories in the coming months. The countries included in the expansion are the following: Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Oman, Palestine, Poland, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vatican City, and Yemen.

While the 11 new territories include: the Faroe Islands, French Polynesia, French Southern Territories, St. Pierre, and Miquelon Overseas Collective, Åland Islands, Sint Maarten, Svalbard & Jan Mayen, British Indian Ocean Territory, Gibraltar, Pitcairn Islands, and St. Helena.
