Louis Vuitton outs its vibrant smartwatch, the Tambour Horizon Light Up!

Louis Vuitton's new Tambour Horizon Light Up watch features an updated operating system, improved design, and increased customization.

The epitome of luxury smartwatches?

The luxury brand introduced three versions of the smartwatch: polished steel, matte black, and matte brown. The latter is considered an ode to Louis Vuitton's iconic brown monogram. 

Both the black and brown models are fitted with high-end PVD finishes, with the black having a titanium crown and lugs.

In front, there's a 44mm sapphire glass screen fitted with 24 LED lights behind the Louis Vuitton Monogram ring, with 8 built-in dial configurations to select from. There's also a striped animation designed in honor of Maison’s iconic trunk.

In addition to this, the watch has a configuration of Vivienne, Maison's mascot. These are just two of the eight configuration displays offered and can be displayed in a myriad of colors, including 11 new gradients. Users can also add their own initials to the watch in their choice of color and typeface.

 The Tambour Horizon Light Up has 1.2 inches round, always-on AMOLED touch screen with 390 x 390 resolution and 327ppi. It sports a heart-rate monitor, microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, and ambient light sensor.

Four battery modes

Moreover, this one is equipped with an all-day battery, four modes—blossom, explorer, submarine, saver. This is to accommodate different needs and usage through controlling the watch's animations.

The ultra-premium wearable allegedly features a custom-made operating system, the first non-Apple system to be accredited as "made for iPhone". It is also compatible with Android and HarmonyOS smartphones. 

The custom-made OS functions based on a system of swipes. If a wearer swipes right, a screen called "My Day" will appear, showing an agenda, the weather, step count, and air quality. 

Swiping down will show notifications, and other functions like alarm, timers, music, Alipay. A swipe left takes the user to "My Travel" where they can find travel plans, boarding passes, and 30 expertly curated city guides that are made by Louis Vuitton.

The luxury smartwatch is already available in select countries such as Singapore, United States, and others. There's no word yet when it's going to arrive here in the Philippines but we'll keep you posted.
