MWC 2022: Huawei releases MateBook E with 8MP webcam, new MateBook X Pro

At its MWC 2022 event, Chinese tech titan Huawei introduced the MateBook E and the MateBook X Pro 2022 to the global market.

MateBook E is a smaller and slimmer productivity 2-in-1 device boasting a body made of magnesium alloy + textured back, 12.6-inch OLED screen with crisp enough 2560 x 1600 resolution. It is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, Intel Iris XE graphics, 8GB or 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB or 512GB PCI NVMe SSD internal storage, and a 42WHr battery with USB-C 65W fast charging.

The device also has an 8MP webcam that you can use for video calls via Zoom, Meet, Teams, and more. 8MP is considered massive for a built-in webcam and could provide a better video streaming experience.

It also comes with 4x speakers, 4x microphones, a bundled keyboard case, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and Windows 11 operating system.

The device also has support for the second-generation Huawei M-Pencil stylus. 

The 2-in-1 laptop/tablet is 7.9mm thick and weighs 709 grams.

MateBook X Pro 2022

On the other hand, the MateBook X Pro 2022 has similarities to the device launched in China.

To recap, it uses a 14.2-inch LCD screen with a 3.1K 3120 x 2080 resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 500 nits of brightness, entire P3 color gamut coverage, and touch screen support.

Inside, it is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Rocket Lake processor, Iris Xe integrated GPU, 16GB LPDDR4X, up to 1TB M2 SSD, 60WHr battery, and 90W USB-C GaN fast charger that weighs just 180 grams.

For cooling, it uses three air intakes, 2x Shark fin fans, and a VC heat dissipation module.

The device also has 6x speakers, a headphone jack slot, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, and 4x USB-C ports (2x USB 3.2) ports.

The device is 15.5 mm thick and weighs 1.38 kg. It also comes with Huawei Super Device Support.
