Meet humanoid robot Ameca

The human resemblance and reactions are uncanny!

Ameca is a humanoid robot made by UK company Engineered Arts. In case you didn't know, a humanoid robot is a robot that resembles the human body in shape. The company says the robot shows off 20 years of innovation in movement and natural gestures as well as the ability to take advantage of cutting-edge AI.

The Ameca humanoid robot combines AI with AB (Artificial Body) for relatable natural human gestures and upgradable modular mechanics via cloud-managed API development tool kit, read Engineered Arts' website description of Ameca.

In the videos we've seen on YouTube and social media platforms, the robot, indeed looks like a human and acts like we do! Just look at this video and get fascinated at what Ameca can do:

As strange and unsettling Ameca may seem, Engineered Arts says it can't 'terminate' humans because it doesn't have anything like "Pure A.I." (a.k.a. Artificial General Intelligence).

But as you can see in the first video, it can work as a chatbot with a very convincing body.
