GCash team up with NBI and PNP to crackdown on fraudulent accounts

In its campaign against online scammers, GCash is collaborating with the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police. GCash users are empowered to protect themselves and become more attentive in the face of fraud thanks to the #GCheckMuna campaign.

GCash shared some tips to protect you and your account. First, never share your MPIN and One-Time Password with ANYONE. Scammers often disguise themselves as GCash representatives to trick you into giving this sensitive information.

Next, only do GCash-related transactions and activities inside the app. Phishing sites will try to copy GCash's official website to get sensitive customer information.

Third, be cautious about who you do business with. Always do your homework and read reviews on the goods you're purchasing and the seller before making an online purchase.

Finally, use only legitimate GCash channels. Visit the GCash Help Center for any questions or issues. Never share your questions on social media for your own protection. GCash will never send a personal message in response to a complaint.

GCash also works closely with the National Bureau of Investigation-Cybercrime Division and the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group in preventing scams and other illegal activities and apprehending any guilty parties to ensure that cybercriminals are monitored, caught, and apprehended. GCash also follows the guidelines set out by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Anti-Money Laundering Council to safeguard the safety and security of its clients.
