The next AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs are supported by these new X670 motherboards. The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs are the first to employ TSMC's 5nm FinFET manufacturing and a completely new AMD architecture and socket. The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs have additional capabilities like PCIe 5.0, and DDR5 memory compatibility, among others.

The X670 chipset is separated into two categories. These are the X670 Extreme and non-Extreme variants. PCIe 5.0 is supported by the X670E through both the PCIe and M.2 slots, whereas X670 motherboards only support PCIe 5.0 through the M.2 slot.

In addition to PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 compatibility, all MSI X670E and X670 motherboards have had their specifications improved, with the rear USB Type-C connector now supporting up to Display Port 2.0 output. Furthermore, the front USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 Type-C on MEG motherboards will enable 60W Power Delivery. Up to 24+2 Power Phases with 105A Smart Power Stage have been added to the VRM architecture.

For the MEG series, the MEG X670E GODLIKE and MEG X670E ACE motherboards have more features. The MEG Series uses an E-ATX PCB with 24+2 VRM phases and a 105A Smart Power Stage. They are cooled by a heatsink with a stacked fin array design as well as a heat pipe to effectively disperse heat while retaining optimal performance. There's also a MOSFET baseplate for the VRM to aid with heat dissipation, and a metal backplate to protect the PCB while maintaining board stiffness. The MEG Series motherboards provide up to four M.2 slots onboard, including one M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slot and one M.2 XPANDER-Z GEN5 DUAL add-on card.

For the new AMD platform, the MPG Series has received significant enhancements. MPG X670E CARBON WIFI is more stable than previously thanks to the implementation of a carbon black color scheme. This motherboard has two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and four M.2 slots and 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 and 2x PCIe 5.0 x4. It includes 18+2 VRM power phases with 90A and an extended heatsink design for cooling. As with the previous iteration, EK Water Blocks will collaborate on a bespoke monoblock that covers the CPU, VRM, and M.2 area.

For professional creators, the PRO Series may be the most popular. The PRO X670-P WIFI is designed to provide high-performance because of its 14+2 Phases Duet Rail Power System and two 8-pin CPU power ports. The PRO Series has a single M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slot, 2.5G LAN, and Wi-Fi 6E solution.

The MSI X670E and X670 motherboards will be available in Q4 2022.
