Meet Nokia E3511 - A quality pair of TWS earbuds with ANC!

Announced back in March 2022, we used the Nokia E3511 for quite a while now.

As a recap, the Nokia E3511 is a pair of TWS earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation that aims to provide an immersive auditory experience with a choice of blocking out external noise or letting some ambient sound.

It is priced at PHP 4,199 here in the Philippines.

Let's see how it fares during our extended use!

The Nokia E3511 comes in a white box with a render of the earbuds and charging case. It also has the name of the earbuds, Nokia branding, regulatory information, and some of the key features.

Inside, you get the charging case and earbuds, the Warranty Guide, Instruction Manual, USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and additional silicone ear tips in small and large sizes.

The charging case is made of tough polycarbonate material with a matte finish. The case is pretty lightweight. It has Nokia's branding on top of it. The pair is also IP44 certified for sweat resistance.

In front of the case are the USB-C charging port and LED indicator. There's nothing at the back but the hinge. Inside the case, there's a physical button that you can press for 5 seconds to clear all pairings active.

The earbuds have a stemmed design with polycarbonate materials. It has silicone tips that you can change for a better fit and sealing. There are a total of three mics for each earbud, 2 inside, and 1 outside.

Once we opened the charging case, pairing is as easy as looking for it on the Bluetooth devices on our smartphone. Once it is paired, it connects automatically every time we take it out of the charging case.

There's no proprietary app to download as well so any EQ or audio quality options will be tied to your phone's.

For audio, both earbuds have a 10mm dynamic driver. There are three modes in terms of ANC which are no ANC, ANC on, and Ambient On. With ANC on, ambient noise is mostly shut out especially if you have the best fit for added isolation. Ambient Mode will allow some of the noise in to keep you aware during times like commute.

The Nokia E3511 promised improved audio and mic quality. In our experience, the Nokia E3511 sounds decent but even at full volume can be a bit soft. No matter what the ANC mode is the volume is on the softer spectrum. We did customize our EQ via our phone's settings and it improved.

The highs and mids are decent and clear but the bass experience is not that good. The bass even in hip-hop songs is almost non-existent. In comparison, the ASUS ROG Cetra TWS, at PHP 200 more, offers a more well-rounded and satisfying sound experience though. In addition, you can switch between SBC and higher-quality AAC.

The three-mic system is better than the Nokia E3500 that we reviewed before. Our voice was easily picked up during calls and when using Google Assistant.

Each earbud can last up to 4 to 5 hours of continuous use. By the way, Nokia E3511 can either be with 1 earbud or both earbuds. We were able to extend the battery life to around 23 hours with the charging case. It charges 100 percent in around 90 minutes thru the USB-C and will charge longer via wireless charging.

The earbuds also have touch controls for media controls, ANC mode switching, power on/off, Google Assistant, and calls. The controls are a bit on the sensitive side though. Accidental presses happened often when we accidentally pass our fingers by our ears.

At PHP 4,199, we can say that Nokia E3511 is worth the look due to the inclusion of ANC. It is also a stylish pair of earbuds. Sound quality can be better though!

Pros: Lightweight, stylish design, IP44 certification, good Active Noise Cancellation performance, good battery life
Cons: Sound quality can be improved, touch controls are too sensitive

Quick thoughts

At PHP 4,199, the Nokia E3511 can be a good option.

The audio leaves a lot to be desired though due to its low volume and lack of bass. The Active Noise Cancellation and microphones are great though. Lasting 23 hours with the charging case with 5 hours max for each earbud is decent as well!

If the next iteration can provide improved audio quality and volume, the Nokia E3511 is on the right track.

What do you guys think?
