There is a case that could make 4G Huawei phones enjoy 5G

Soyealink, an allegedly an affiliate of Huawei, has released a case that could make 4G phones 5G enabled in seconds.

Huawei users to get 5G via their new case with just a few clicks?

Reportedly, the case will allow Huawei P50-series owners to circumvent the device's limitations to 4G/LTE-only connectivity. It is touted to come with the tech necessary to grant 5G on the Huawei flagships through an embedded 5G network solution.

Soyealink said that the cases' eSIMs are supported by 3 (unnamed) carriers active in China.  With the presumption that the user is within their coverage, they can set their P50 Pro up to get 5G via their new case with just a few clicks through a set-up interface.

The 5G phone case comes in gray color with leather materials that may give the user a solid grip. Based on the product renders, this accessory has been made for the Huawei P50 series.

Looking at the design, the cover has a P50-like camera cutout and there is a slight area cut out from the left and right sides to access function keys. However, the manufacturer has also allegedly planned to adopt this solution for more handsets in the future.

According to the source, users should enable the eSIM service before the installation. After installing the case, a prompt will instruct them with new guidelines and instructions to set up the case.

Apparently, the main card of the phone and the eSIM network of the 5G network case are merged into one card and displayed in the phone's taskbar.

To recap, the US government has prevented the Chinese tech giant from accessing 5G network solutions for their devices. So, having a case like this could make its users bypass the said restriction.

Soyealink has revealed this product via its website but it hasn't revealed how much it costs. A famous leaker posted on Weibo that it might be priced at CNY 799. 

The leaker also tipped that this case will arrive in variants compatible with devices of the Mate 40 and Nova 9 lines, and the upcoming Mate 50 and Nova 10 series soon.
