The new AMD Ryzen 7000 series was announced with the new AMD socket AM5 technology along with its motherboard counterparts. The socket AM5 socket will move from PGA socket to the LGA-socket form factor. This upgrade comes with DDR5 RAM support but will have no DDR4 RAM compatibility. So, if you want to use the new Ryzen 7000 processors? You need a new AM5 board and DDR5 RAM. Big and pricey commitment.

Ryzen 5 5600X vs Ryzen 5 7600X

Is it worth the upgrade though? Well, yes! There will be 4 Ryzen 7000 series CPUs to be initially launched here in the Philippines. The Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 7 7700X, Ryzen 9 7900X, and Ryzen 9 7950X. All of these will have at least a minimum base clock of 4.5GHz.

For instance, the Ryzen 5 7600X is touted to be 21 percent faster than the Ryzen 5 5600X on average.

AMD Ryzen 7 7750X - 8c/16t, 4.5GHz base clock, 5.4GHz boost clock, 40MB cache, 105W TDP

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - 6c/12t, 4.7GHz base clock, 5.3GHz boost clock, 38MB cache, 105W TDP
