Alongside the new Watch Ultra and Watch Series 8, Apple revealed the new Apple Watch SE with the new S8 chip and crash detection.

A major push for smartwatches?
Apple has revealed the next generation of its most affordable smartwatch yet. It now comes with the S8 chip with the SiP advanced dual-core CPU which the company claims to offer 20 percent faster performance than the previous model. The same SiP also gives the Watch SE Crash Detection and international roaming that is also found in the Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra. This also gives the Watch SE access to WatchOS 9's compass app for increased exercise and wellness capabilities.
The Watch SE's case design is similar to the previous model but now comes with a nylon composite back shell that makes it lighter. It comes in either 40mm or 44mm sizes but unlike the Series 8, the Watch SE's case only comes in Aluminum.
Like past models, it can measure and track Blood Oxygen, ECG and Heartrate. Apple has improved the Temperature sensors that enable it to also measure the Menstrual Cycle. It will also notify the user for High or Low heart rate and Irregular Rhythm.
Other features include the new Emergency SOS, International Emergency Calling, Fall Detection, and Crash Detection thru its built-in GPS and Cellular connectivity.
Interested buyers can customize their Watch SE thru Apple's website for the Philippines. They can pick between the two sizes and between eight types of bands. This includes the Solo Loop, Braided Solo Loop, Sport Band, Nike Sport Band, Sport Loop, Nike Sport Loop, Leather and Stainless Steel bands.
Lastly, the case will come in either Midnight Black, Starlight and Silver.

It will be available for purchase in the United States on September 23rd but there is no word yet when it will arrive in the Philippines.
